# 4.1. How to Send and Receive Messages

| Effective communication is key to building connections on MilanaDate.

Here’s how you can easily send and receive messages:

**Sending Messages:**

1. Find a Match: Navigate to your matches list or browse profiles to find someone you'd like to connect with.
 
2. Click on the Profile: Once you’ve found someone, click on their profile to open it.
  
3. Send a Message: Use the "Send Message" button to start a conversation. Type your message in the text box and hit send. If you have sufficient credits, the message will be delivered immediately.

**Receiving Messages: **

1. Inbox Notifications: When someone messages you, you’ll receive a notification in your inbox.
2. Opening Messages: Simply click on the notification or go to your inbox to open and read the message.
3. Replying: To reply, type your message in the text box below the received message and click send.

**Tips for Messaging:**

* Be Engaging: Start with a question or comment that invites a response.
* Personalize Your Messages: Reference something specific from their profile to show you’ve read it.
